May 16, Massachusetts Row, 7:23 p.m.

A 36-year-old male College employee had a Kyocera cell phone stolen from his motor vehicle, which was parked near Thayer dining hall. The police believe this crime may be connected to other similar thefts from parked cars in the past week and are pursuing the case.

May 17, Olde Nugget Alley, 12:45 a.m.

A Safety and Security officer on routine patrol heard two males in their late teens or early twenties making suspicious noises outside 5 Olde Nugget Alley. As the officer approached, the perpetrators fled the scene, and it was later found that they were unsuccessfully attempting to break into 5 Olde's beer cooler. Safety and Security then called Hanover Police to handle the investigation. The police said they have several non-College leads.

May 17, East Wheelock Street. 2:42 a.m.

A Chevy Blazer parked in A-Lot and belonging to an 18-year-old male College student had its CD player stolen. This appears to be connected to other similar crimes. Police said detectives are focusing on non-student suspects.

Another 18-year-old male College student reported his CD player stolen from his car, in this case a pick-up truck, in a manner similar to other car break-ins.

May 17, Webster Avenue. 2:15 p.m.

In yet anther car break-in incident of last week, a 21-year-old female College student reported the theft of a CD case from her Jeep, parked in the Kappa Delta Epsilon sorority lot.

May 18, West Wheelock Street, 1:42 a.m.

Police responded to a 911 call from Psi Upsilon fraternity, where a 29-year-old male alumnus apparently bit a 21-year-old member of the house in the chin during an altercation. The suspect was apparently involved in several incidents over the course of the night at the fraternity and was repeatedly asked to leave. The biting incident occurred during the process of throwing the suspect out of the house. The victim was not hospitalized, and the incident is still under investigation.

May 18, Lyme Road, 9:57 a.m.

A routine traffic stop for operating a Jeep Cherokee without an inspection sticker ended in the arrest of a 28-year-old male for an electronic bench warrant from Lebanon District Court for failure to answer a summons. The suspect was arrested and released on personal recognizance bail.

May 19, Lyme Road, 4:57 and 4:58 p.m.

Two on-campus sexual assaults were reported. The first allegedly occurred on May 16, while the second allegedly occurred on May 8. In both cases, the student female victim was reportedly sexually assaulted by a student male acquaintance. This is the third sexual assault reported in the past two weeks. Hanover Police said the incidents are all unrelated, involving different victims and different suspects in each case.

May 20, West Wheelock Street, 10:54 p.m.

Police responded to the scene of a one-car accident on Ledyard Bridge that resulted in driver James Dorris being transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment, where the 28-year-old Canaan resident was arrested for DUI.

May 21, Trescott Road, 1:56 a.m.

Hanover Police received a 911 call from a resident of Trescott Road reporting that he found an unidentified male asleep in a chair in the basement and vomit on the floor. When police arrived, they took a 20-year-old Middlebury student into custody and charged him with unlawful possession and trespassing. The trespass charge will be a misdemeanor. Police are not sure how the arrestee became intoxicated, how he got into the house or whether the incident is College-related.

May 22, Tuck Drive, 4:30 a.m.

Police arrested a 19-year-old male Yale freshman from New York in the vicinity of Tuck Circle for unlawful possession of alcohol and false identification. Safety and Security stopped the individual and called Hanover Police when they found out that he was a non-student. It appears from the report that the arrestee was alone.

May 22, Cemetery Lane, 6:03 p.m.

Two moose were spotted on the road near Lord Hall. The police report indicates that the officers left the animals on the road.

May 23, Mass Row, 12:44 a.m.

Safety and Security encountered an intoxicated 19-year-old female Notre Dame student visiting her friends for the weekend and promptly turned her over to Hanover Police, who arrested her for unlawful possession of alcohol.
