To the Editor:
I write to express my thanks to the members of Palaeopitus for their recent efforts to recognize and applaud the work done by Dartmouth's staff, all of whom play a critical role in making life and learning at Dartmouth possible. Palaeopitus described its Students Say Thanks: Staff Appreciation Week as a "beginning." Their initiative has provided an excellent beginning, indeed, for all of us. I hope we will all continue to have a heightened awareness and appreciation for the fundamentally important work done by the staff members of this community -- and for the special spirit which they so often bring to it.
