Crew Coming to Connecticut

Coming off of their collegiate debuts last week at the Dartmouth Invitational, the freshman lightweight men and the novice women's crews head down to Derby, Conn., this weekend for the annual Yale Invitational.

Known as the Demolition at Derby, this three-mile head race marks the first time in which the '05s will row their way into enemy territory.

Yale's crews, which have been practicing on the water since late August, are sure to provide the Big Green with all it can handle, as the Bulldogs appear to be the top competition for this event.

While the freshman lights and novice women head down I-91 to the Nutmeg State, the heavyweight crews--both freshman and varsity--will face off against the Huskies of Northeastern here in Hanover tomorrow.

Scheduled for a 1 p.m. start, this annual scrimmage between two of the elite rowing programs in the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) is sure to provide an entertaining afternoon full of thrills and excitement along the Connecticut River.

It also is a rare opportunity for the loyal fans of Dartmouth rowing to catch the Big Green in action right here in the Upper Valley.
