Softball too much for UMass

The Dartmouth softball team was finally on Mother Nature's good side yesterday.

The Big Green arrived on the UMass-Lowell campus and were able to play a complete double-header for the first time since April 16th when they traded 3-2 games with the Yale Bulldogs.

Yesterday, Dartmouth promptly rained on River Hawks' parade, sweeping the doubleheader with scores of 3-0 and 3-1.

Stacy Sanders '00 and Christine Quattrocchi '03 both delivered solid performances for Dartmouth on the afternoon. Sanders worked the shutout in the opener while Quattrocchi kept UMass-Lowell quiet in the nightcap.

"[W]e had our moments of clutch hitting which pushed the score in our favor," outfielder Sarah Damon '02 said. "UMass-Lowell played us tough but in the end, we came up with [wins]."

Yesterday's action extends the Big Green's win streak to four and improves their record to 21-11 overall. Dartmouth will travel to Cambridge, Mass. to face the Crimson tomorrow afternoon.

Harvard is undefeated in the Ivy league action all season.
