Men's lax visits No. 9 Big Red

Coming off a solid 10-4 win Wednesday afternoon against Sacred Heart, Dartmouth (4-4, 0-1 Ivy) travels to Ithaca tomorrow afternoon to take on one of the hottest teams in the nation.

Dartmouth will face ninth-ranked Cornell (7-1, 3-0), who is riding high, after dethroning top-ranked and formerly undefeated Syracuse Tuesday night in a 13-12 stunner.

The Big Green will be looking to replicate their stellar defensive performance against the Pioneers, who were able to muster only one goal in the second half.

Patrick McClammer '02 saved 10 and gave up three goals in 58 minutes of play Wednesday despite nursing an ankle injury.

"To be successful we must play as a team and be consistent at all positions on the field," said McClammer. "It comes down to whichever team plays smarter and hustles more wins the game."

Dartmouth will need his help when they face attacker Sean Steinwald, who is fourth in the nation in goals score per game (3.29) and eighth in points per game (4.57).

As a team Cornell ranks second in the nation in scoring defense (6.86 goalsallowed per game) and 11th in scoring offense (12.29 goals allowed per game).

On the Dartmouth lineup, Connor Price '02 leads the team in scoring with 13 goals and seven assists, while Schuyler Minert '01 has 10 goals and five assists on the ninth-rankedseason.

The Big Green is looking for its first Ivy win, having opened up the season with a 7-4 loss at the hands of Penn. Its 0-1 record puts Dartmouth in the basement.

Cornell is currently tied for first place in the conference with Princeton, who takes on Harvard Saturday.

Every other team has played at least two more conference games than Dartmouth has.

Of the 49 contests between Dartmouth and Cornell, the Big Red has won 35, including the last two.
