Jonathan Arbeit '02 says:
-Invest in Apple Computers. Apple has great products and undervalued stock. They are doing everything right from a management perspective, and compared to other computing firms, their stock is still a bargain.
-Avoid buying "business to business" stocks. They are a specialized field that probably will not be useful for long.
-An interesting risk would be amazon.com. Amazon takes customer service and satisfaction very seriously.
Kenneth Fischl '00 says:
-Invest in Nokia. The company has a strong brand name and the potential for high growth in the global mobile phone market. Nokia produces lower end phones very efficiently compared to its rivals.
-Despite what Arbeit says, avoid amazon.com. It has yet to make a profit, is in a low-margin business -- and e-commerce stocks are no longer hot.
-If you want a risk, buy stock in Millenium Pharmaceuticals. It experienced big losses in the recent Nasdaq drop, but its practices makes the company safer than other biotechs.
