Murray is Player of the Week

Anne Murray '00, an outside hitter on the Big Green women's volleyball team, was named Ivy League player of the week for her efforts last week. Murray recorded 5.10 kills per game, 1.60 digs per game and .30 blocks per game to help Dartmouth improve to 15-2 overall on the season. Overall, Murray leads the team averaging 3.61 kills per game. It is the second time this year Murray has won the award. Dartmouth owns the top record in the Ivy League.

Scopaz earns Rookie of the Week

While techincally not a rookie, Kristen Scopaz '00 earned the Ivy League rookie of the week honors by scoring twice last week for the Big Green field hockey team. Scopaz did not play last year after tearing her ACL the previous summer. She tallied two goals over the weekend against Bucknell and is second in the team in points behind her sister, Lauren Scopaz '00.

Meyer, Lee make Honor Roll

Big Green soccer defender Bobby Meyer '99 and football safety Lloyd Lee '98 earned spots on the Ivy League honor roll in their respective sports for their perfomances over the weekend. Meyer played a key role on defense in Dartmouth's 0-0 tie with Princeton while Lee's interception sparked the Big Green's 21-point outburst in the third quarter that helped to bury Fordham 31-10.

Men's golf falls in Tennessee

The Dartmouth men's golf team ran into some stiff competition at the Columbia Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday, finishing last in a field of 22 teams.

The 54-hole, two-day tournament was hosted by the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Campbell University won the team title with a score of 860.

The Big Green finished 36 holes Monday in 21st place, but slipped a stroke behind Western Carolina (927) with a score of 928.

In the field of 112 golfers, sophomore Chris Welty was Dartmouth's top finisher with scores of 71-78-79--228. That was 15 over par and good for a tie for 71st place.
