Ramunto's will offer Hanover another late-night pizza alternative

Ramunto's Brick and Brew Pizzeria will make its Hanover debut this Thursday and give students another late-night dining option. The restaurant is located on 68 Main Street next to Buon Gustaio Restaurant.

Ramunto's, which has another branch in West Lebanon called Ramunto's Sicilian Pizza, will serve brick-oven pizza, hot and cold submarine sandwiches, salad, beer and wine.

Ramunto's manager John Kelly said the restaurant will not deliver food initially, but may offer that service during the Fall term when most students return to campus.

Ramunto's will have late-night hours. On weekdays it will be open until 11 or 12 at night and on weekends until 1 a.m.

It remains to be seen how Ramunto's will fare against Hanover's three other pizza parlors, C&A Pizza, Everything But Anchovies and Foodees.

EBAs' co-owner Charlie Dowd said he is anticipating competition from Ramunto's.

"They will be competitive, but there's plenty of business for everyone," Dowd said.

Dowd said Ramunto's will not affect the planned expansion of EBAs this fall.

Dowd plans to add 70 seats to the restaurant's present 90 by Sept. 1 after approval from the Hanover Planning Board.

Joe Nagraj '98 said he is a fan of the Ramunto's in West Lebanon and excited about the restaurant's opening in Hanover.

"It's the bomb! Their pizza blows EBAs away," Nagraj said.
