Lonergan '97, Webeck '94 make Ivy first-team

Dartmouth sophomore Sea Lonergan was a unanimous selection to the First-Team All-Ivy League men's basketball team. Ilsa Webeck '94 represented the women's basketball team, winners of the Ivy-League Championship, on the First-Team All-Ivy women's team.

Lonergan led the Ivy League in scoring with an 18.5 points per game,3.7 points per game more than Ivy-League Player of the Year Matt Maloney of the University of Pennsylvania. Lonergan also finished fourth in the league in three point shooting percentage, and was named Player of the Week a league-leading four times.

Webeck, Dartmouth's stalwart center, led the Big Green in scoring, with 16.0 points per game, and rebounding, pullling down nine boards a game.Despite her contributions, Webeck was suprised with her selection,"It was a little bit of a surprise," she said. "I was just looking to play well. I was pretty pleased with the way I played this year."

Also earning All-Ivy team were Brian Gilpin '97, who made the second team,and Jamie Halligan '95, who earned honorable mention.Gilpin, Dartmouth's starting center, led the Big Green in rebounding.Halligan, the team's captain, poured in 11.7 points per game.

Betsy Gilmore '94 and Sally Annis '97 also made the All-Ivy roster.Gilmore, Darmouth's senior point guard, led the Big Green in assists, and steals.Annis finished second in scoring at 12.2 a game.

University of Pennsylvania star seniors Jerome Allen and Maloney joined Lonergan as unanimous first teamers.Rick Hielscher, Princeton's senior center, and Eric Blackiston, a junior forward, round out the first team.

Harvard University placed two athletes on the women's first team.Senior Tammy Butler and freshman Allison Feaster represented the Crimson. Cornell senior froward Kerl Farley and Brown senior center Martina Jerant completed the team.
