To the Editor:
I want to thank everyone who came to the community meeting at on Feb. 27 to address the impact of a hateful flyer sent to the Dartmouth Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Organization. I didn't agree with everything that was said, and I certainly couldn't support how a few people dominated the time and never expressed their concern for the safety of everyone on this campus.
Yet this forum was essential to expose prejudice, to demonstrate support and to learn. Education is never comfortable or easy. What I can offer this community is a commitment to working on reducing my own ignorance and homophobia and to offer a safe place in my office, home and heart for gays, lesbians and bisexuals here and elsewhere.
