The Student Assembly adjourned early last night and could not vote on a proposed bylaw amendment because it did not have a quorum.
The amendment would allow for a question-and-answer session after Assembly members speak for and against resolutions.
Assembly President Rukmini Sichitiu '95 attributed the lack of attendance to midterms, sickness and a short agenda. About 15 people went to the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Sichitiu presented a report on Saturday's "Rally to Replace Webster Hall," which about 200 faculty members and students attended.
She said the rally was "very successful" and that she received positive feedback from professors and College administration members.
Sichitiu also discussed an Assembly petition drive to show student support for the construction of a building similar in size and purpose to Webster. Webster is slated to become the new home for a Special Collections library.
Currently, the Assembly has 450 signatures on the petition, and Sichitiu said she hopes to get more than 500 signatures by Friday. The signatures on the petition are from faculty and students, which Sichitiu said "shows there is a coalition of diverse support for this."
Sichitiu will submit the petition to Provost Lee Bollinger, Dean of the College Lee Pelton and the Board of Trustees.
She said the petition, coupled with a report by the Coalition of Class Officers that said student programming will suffer when Webster closes, shows student support for a new building. Sichitiu said she will also take a poll of the faculty.
