To the Editor:
During the Summer of 1993, a graduate student in the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies Program died in a tragic accident. Students and faculty contributed towards a memorial tree, which was planted near Richardson Dorm, where MALS students are housed in the summers.
Twice in the intervening months the tree has been vandalized during week-ends and has had to be replaced. We appeal to the Dartmouth community to honor this fellow student by respecting the tree planted in his memory. Is this too much to ask?
