Case of Unfair Control by Ruling Majority

To the Editor:

I have been interested in getting involved in the Student Assembly and due to sports commitments this Fall term have not been able to.

Nevertheless, I still want to stay informed about the ongoings of the Assembly. I therefore monitor both of the Assembly bulletins. I have not been able to gleen any information from those sources.

Assembly Secretary John Honovich '97 has been a life-line to the school and its ongoings for those of us who have as of yet been unable to get involved. He often blitzes random groups of students to assess their opinions so that he can accurately represent the student body to the Assembly.

Honovich's actions and his attempts to involve the students in school politics are noble and certaintly not so out of line as to call for an impeachment or a forced resignation.

I hope that Darmouth is not becoming an institution where one is silenced as soon as he or she begins to make noise that is not appreciated by the controlling majority.

If that is the case, how can academics continue to move forward?
