The men's swim team fell to Cornell 140-119 Saturday in a close meet highlighted by many impressive individual performances.
While most of the men are now focused on next week's Eastern championships, freshmen Chris Whalen, Zev Starr-Tambor, Richard Petty and J.B. Jorgensen all finished their season on Saturday with a strong showing. Each achieved a personal best time for the season.
The free relay team, made up of co-captain Pete Moore '94, Eric Dorre '96, Bob Halk '94 and Matt Carlson '94 captured an impressive win.
In preparation for Easterns next weekend, the team will continue the tradition of "taper and shave". The hairless bodies and heads should help the swimmers get their best possible times.
Co-captain Jason Stern '94 said the team is very well prepared for Easterns, both physically and emotionally.
"Expectations from coach Jim Wilson and the team members are pretty high," Stern said. "We should surprise a lot of the teams that defeated us earlier in the season."
