In WiRED, a self-described "24-hour playwriting experience," four pairs of student playwright-directors write, cast, rehearse and perform their plays in exactly one day. The madness began at 8 p.m. on Friday when the playwrights were given a prompt childhood dreams to jumpstart the creative process. The writer-director pairs then had 12 hours until they handed in their scripts, and the actors arrived at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning for casting.

A hazy fog and color-changing light display illuminated the North Hall as the crowd bobbed and jumped in unison to a mash-up of Avicii's own "Fade Into Darkness" and Florence and the Machine's "You Got the Love," the act's opening number. A joint effort between Safety and Security and Hanover Police prevented the energetic crowd from pushing against the stage. Some glitter-clad fans were vaulted onto the shoulders of their friends and swayed precariously to the beat. Greg Dona '10, a popular campus DJ who is now known as DJ Friendly Greg opened for Avicii. The house lights remained on for the duration of his set, which detracted from popular tracks like M83's "Midnight City" and Benny Benassi's "Cinema."

Fall may have been the season for single women, with such new hits as "New Girl," "2 Broke Girls," "Pan Am" and "Whitney," but the winter is the season for the eclectic male lead. The season's chilly weather also brings with it the premieres of "Angry Boys," "It's a Brad, Brad World" and "Luck," as well as the continuation of "The Life and Times of Tim," offering a respite from the fall's influence of "Bridesmaids" (2011) on female comedies. Although a heavy emphasis on cable shows dominates the mid-season, almost all of the major networks feature a new show for viewers to enjoy.

"The goal of the evening is to celebrate and honor people's creativity and courage," Landis said. "It's an opportunity to share their reflections and words with other people."

Whether you're a music lover who loves drinks, a drink lover who loves music or just a lover of cool things, the website Drinkify.org will provide you with some good, old-fashioned fun. Developed during a 24-hour hack-fest by developers from The Echo Nest, the music intelligence platform behind iHeartRadio, Drinkify cranks out the perfect drink recipe for whatever tunes you are currently blasting. Some highlight drinks include "The Lady Gaga," which features six ounces of vodka, served neat and garnished with an olive and "The Jonathan Larson," an ode to the mastermind behind "Rent," which calls for one bottle of ecstasy, one bottle of monster energy drink and 10 ounces of raspberry vodka combined in a shaker and strained into a cocktail glass, stirred vigorously. A witty one for sure is "The Ratatat," which is 4 oz. gin, served neat and garnished with a glow stick. Drink up.

The book, which Anastasia authored with CBS Philadelphia Sports Radio talk show host Glen Macnow, ranks the top 100 gangster films to date, which include obvious candidates like "The Godfather" (1972) as well as some lesser-known foreign films.

During my senior year of high school, Chris Lilley's HBO show "Summer Heights High" hit it big, and the hallways were filled with the sounds of people trying to quote Ja'mie, Mr. G or Jonah three characters on the show all played by Lilley. It seemed absurd that people would act out whole episodes, but given the absolute awesomeness of the high-school mockumentary, who could blame them? After all of the hype and hysteria, though, "Summer Heights High" was over just eight episodes later, and television was once again boring and deprived of the brilliant humor of Lilley, who also wrote and produced the show.

For the Saturday bash, Collis Common Ground will transform into a venue much like last Spring's sparsely-attended "Club Collis," only this time there will be "free candy, free booze for those over 21, a costume contest and of course, Yelawolf," PB concert director Amaris Galea-Orbe '11 said. "I saw [Yelawolf] at South By Southwest and he was amazing. It was one of the best rap shows I've been to."

Given the absolute obsession I have had with Saturday Night Live, it's rare that I would ever dare to question any aspect of it. However, the increasingly long "Weekend Update" segments and repeated inclusion of the "What's Up With That?" sketch in recent seasons have not only given me a headache, but are making me question my faith in the whole program. Sure, they have had about one great sketch per episode, but a continuously funny, entertaining hour-and-a-half? Not so much.

The show will be staged by the Phantom Limb Company this Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. in Moore Theater at the Hopkins Center for the Arts. The New York-based group, co-founded by Erik Sanko and Jessica Grindstaff, has been to Hanover before their extensive research into Shackleton's expedition in preparation for the performance spanned from examining materials in Rauner Special Collections Library to field work in Antarctica.

Sure, James Franco's SNL video skits are considered ancient by internet standards, but their resurrection is needed in the midst of The Lonely Island's halfhearted attempts to surpass the glory of its most popular videos, "I Just Had Sex," "Jizz in My Pants" and all of the videos featuring the "Dick in a Box" bros, to name a few. Yes, "Giraffes" and "The Tizzle Wizzle Show" may be the weirdest things you've ever seen, but to really appreciate the absurdities that are churned out by Mr. Samberg, they should top your comedy to-do list. "Giraffes" displays, well, a bunch of giraffes and their real purpose on our planet. You'll be in for a surprise. "The Tizzle Wizzle Show," arguably more insane, is as catchy as "I'm On a Boat" but far more entertaining, and features Franco wearing pajamas and knife-wielding Andy Samberg and friends.

Right away, the opening track evokes the image of a claw-in-the-air Gaga bopping around the stage on her next tour. It's apparent that she is having just as much fun as she had with "The Fame" and "The Fame Monster," especially on a track that features the unlikely combination of motorcycles and unicorns, "Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)."

Jenna "Marbles" Mourey must be on a very powerful set of drugs the videos on her blog, www.jennamarblesblog.com, are so hilariously outlandish that it seems unlikely any sober and sane individual could create them. Marbles, who takes her fake name from her pet chihuahua, Mr. Marbles, does it all: She sings, tells stories, impersonates famous people and rubs various food products all over her face. "How To Trick People Into Thinking You're Good Looking" is by far her most popular video with over 17 million views, and Mourey kills it with her matter-of-fact statements and perfect timing in bits about "whorelashes" and abusing one's hair.

Some of the best posts include "The Party," chronicling her determination to attend a birthday party despite being heavily anesthetized, "Dogs Don't Understand Basic Concepts Like Moving," depicting her maniacally stupid dogs and "Texas," detailing her quest to find juice while running a high fever and her psychological breakdown in an airport. "The God of Cake," is by far the most insane, and the drawings of a young Brosh throwing a fit could possibly cause your ribs to break from laughing so hard.
