On April 1, the Dartmouth Ski Patrol hosted its sixth annual Pond Skim at the Dartmouth Skiway. The event kicked off at 11 a.m. with youth (U17) skiers taking the first lap of the day down the trail and through the pond, followed by Dartmouth students and community members. The event wrapped up with a concert from Dartmouth’s student band Milk inside the Ski Lodge. This year, all of the proceeds from the Pond Skim went to the Veterans Affairs Adaptive Sports Program.
On Saturday, Feb. 25 and Sunday, Feb. 26, men’s and women’s track and field competed at the 2023 Ivy League Indoor Heptagonal Track and Field Championships at the Leverone Field House in Hanover. The men’s team placed fifth overall while the women’s team tied Columbia University for fourth.
On Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11, the Big Green ski team competed at the Harvard Carnival in Dublin and Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. The team fended off the University of Vermont to claim first place in an Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association carnival for the first time in nearly four years.
On Saturday, Feb. 4, men’s and women’s track and field competed in the Scarlet and White Invite at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center. The competition was unscored, but the Big Green continued its impressive start to the season, placing multiple runners and throwers in the top 10 of their competitions and breaking two more Dartmouth program records.
The women’s basketball team fell to Columbia University 79-50 on Saturday, Jan. 28, marking the Big Green’s seventh conference loss.
Friday, Nov. 11
On Oct. 22 and 23, women’s tennis put together two successful days of competition against the University of Connecticut, Boston University and the University of Rhode Island at the Brown Classic.
Men’s hockey captured wins in both of its preseason matches against McGill University and the University of Guelph on Oct. 12 and Oct. 21. The Big Green hopes to continue this momentum and preparation into the regular season, which begins this week.
Nearly halfway through the fall term, Dartmouth men’s heavyweight rowing is preparing for their preliminary regatta — the Head of the Charles Regatta — which will be held in Cambridge, Mass. on Oct. 21.
