On Sept. 30, Dartmouth field hockey hosted Brown University for their Ivy League home opener at Chase Field. The Big Green won 2-0, marking their first Ivy League victory since 2018. Previously, the team had a 25-game losing streak in Ivy League play.
On Friday, Feb. 10, women’s hockey fell to St. Lawrence University 7-3 in Thompson Arena. With a quick turnaround, the Big Green also faced off against Clarkson University on Saturday and lost its final Eastern College Athletic Conference home game 4-0.
Men’s hockey fell to Princeton University 7-3 this past Friday and to No. 2 Quinnipiac University 4-2 the following evening.
This past weekend, the men’s hockey team bested Brown University 4-3 and Yale University 4-0 for its first road wins of the season.

The men’s hockey team returned to action last weekend after a series of tough losses over the break. In the Friendship Four tournament during winterim, the team could not secure a single victory, falling to Quinnipiac University with a score of 2-5 and to University of Massachusetts Lowell in overtime with a score of 3-4. Throughout other competition during the winter break, Dartmouth fell to Colgate University with a score of 5-1 and Cornell University with a score of 1-0. The team continuously failed to secure a win, suffering another loss against UMass Lowell at 3-2 and a 5-1 defeat at the hands of University of Vermont in December.
Women’s hockey head coach Liz Keady Norton will be an assistant coach for the U18 U.S. women’s national team as they gear up for the International Ice Hockey Federation’s U18 Women’s World Championship, USA Hockey announced. The squad will travel to Brunflo, Sweden in January of 2023 to compete.
The men’s hockey team finished 1-1 at the 30th Ledyard Classic, defeating Army 5-2 but falling to Providence 5-3.
Dartmouth, after putting up just one goal in a 4-1 loss to Yale University in the first of two this weekend, came onto the ice with something to prove Saturday. This week, I sat down with Lindsey Allen ’16 of the No. 10 women’s hockey team before the team traveled to upstate New York to face St. Lawrence University and No. 7 Clarkson University. Before cooling off with two losses this weekend, the team had raced out to a 4-0-0 start, scoring 19 goals through four games. Allen leads the Dartmouth women with six goals this season.
When defending national champions Union College notched three unanswered goals against the Big Green on Friday, the team threw a challenge down on the ice. Union dared the green and white to show up, score a goal, defend itself.
The women’s hockey team moved to 4-0 with a 5-1 win over St. Lawrence University on Friday on neutral ice in Rochester, New York — a score that does not count toward the overall ECAC standings. Lindsey Allen ’16 and captain Karlee Odland ’15 were the offensive stars for the Big Green, notching three and two points in the win.

The field hockey team was officially eliminated from Ivy League title contention this weekend after a 3-1 loss to Harvard University on Saturday. The team (5-11, 3-3 Ivy) also fell to the University of New Hampshire on Sunday for its fourth straight loss.
Dartmouth skated onto the ice in the second period of Saturday’s game against Harvard University and finished off a penalty kill — an accomplishment, as in the team’s exhibition matches, the Big Green went 2-6 on penalty kills.
