Three Dartmouth staff members demonstrated paperless office software that the computer science department will use as part of its new effort to reduce office waste and inefficiency. Joseph Elsener, department administrator, Wess Jolley, records manager for the College, and Stephen McAllister, director of information strategy, led the demonstration on Thursday afternoon, which was followed by a open forum on digital information. The new software illustrates how the department "is meeting Dartmouth's commitment to sustainability, efficiency and cost reduction through the application of document management software," Elsener said in an e-mail to The Dartmouth.
Dartmouth Outing Club members elected the club's officers for the next year on Thursday night. Becca Vogel '11 will take over for current President Andrew Palmer '10 for the Spring, to be replaced by Tom Flynn '11 for the Summer, Fall and Winter terms. Greg Sokol '10 will serve as one of the Outing Club's vice presidents during the Spring, Fall and Winter terms, and Adrian Doran '11 will also hold a vice presidential position during the Spring, Summer and Winter terms. Joe Pearl '11 will join Doran as the second summer vice-president, while both Chris Randall '12 and Riley Kane '12 will join Sokol in the Fall. Palmer said the members chose to add an additional vice president for the Fall term because that term is customarily the Outing Club's busiest period. Brenna Gibbons '12 will take over as the club's treasurer for the Spring, Fall and Winter terms. Outing Club members cast 144 ballots in the elections, according to Palmer.
