And, as Jean Ellen Cowgill tells us in her column this week, maybe that's not a bad thing. Maybe the occasional party-for-no-reason is exactly what is needed at a school filled with habitual overachievers -- don't deny it.
But, in between the dance parties and games of pong this weekend, don't forget to step back and remember the 98 years of history that precede this year's Carnival. Give Fred Harris his due -- shake off the hangover and go to the Skiway, brave the waters of Occom Pond and, please, please, finish the snow sculpture.
Traditions are what make Dartmouth the place it is today. It would be a shame to see them lost among stacks of empty Keystone cans.
