To the Editor:
The article published about the most recent Student Assembly meeting ("Assembly amendment remains stalled," Jan. 26) was extremely unfortunate. My comment about Brian Martin "not being my first choice" reflects poorly on someone who has demonstrated incredible dedication to the Student Assembly. He is enthusiastic, a strong leader, and a good friend of mine. My quotation was taken from a closed session of the Student Assembly in which we deliberate on candidates. I felt it made the most sense to nominate a leader from within my committee. That said, Brian certainly deserves to serve on the Executive Board and I am glad he now has this opportunity.
