Interim News Briefing

Fall term ended, but the news didn't. Here's what you might have missed if you left Hanover in December:

Dartmouth earned a 27th-place ranking in the January issue of Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine's list of best college bargains. The Kiplinger's survey, taken in November, named the "best deals" among 1,300 private schools. Cal Tech, the school rated No. 1, was determined to best combine academic excellence with generous aid packages and lower total costs.

Brad Noblet, director of Computing Services' technical services branch, was named to Network World magazine's list of the 50 most powerful people in networking.

Dartmouth Medical School and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center are embarking on a $200 million to $250 million capital campaign that officials say will bolster education, research and patient care.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center has created one of the top business work environments in New Hampshire, according to Business NH Magazine. In the magazine's December issue, they ranked DHMC No.2 on their list of 10 "Best Companies to Work For."
