Ruggers Hunting For SUNY-Buffalo

by Staff and wire reports | 11/2/01 6:00am

The Dartmouth Men's Rugby team enters the Northeastern playoffs this weekend as the third seed in its division. The Big Green will travel to play SUNY-Buffalo in what should be a hard-hitting game. A win and their season is extended. A loss and the DRFC packs up and comes home to await next season.

As captain Matthew Sullivan says, "No one wants to go home a loser."

Women's Rugby: The Big Green will battle Columbia tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Sachem Field. Last weekend, Dartmouth pulled out a 17-5 win over UMass in its toughest match of the season to this point.

Men's Swimming: Dartmouth's men's swimming and diving team opens its season with a weekend-long meet at Sherbrooke. They hope to improve on last season's dismal 3-9 mark by getting off to a good start. Their next match is their first Ivy one as they travel to Brown on Nov. 17. The Big Green will also take on Navy when they compete against Brown.
