Colgate 4, Cornell 0
Colgate blanked the visiting Cornell Big Red on Friday.
Colgate Goaltener Shep Harder earned a shutout with a 33-save performance. Cornell switched their goalies from Matt Underhill to Chris Gartman halfway through the second period after Colgate took a 3-0 lead.
Neither teams had power play goals in combined 13 tries.
RPI 6, Princeton 2
After Princeton took a 1-0 lead just four minutes into the game, RPI scored the next three goals to steal the game from the host Princeton. The Engineers continued their offensive explosion as they scored three more goals in the third period.
Union 2, Yale 2
About a minute after Union took a 2-1 lead in the third period, Yale's Ben Stafford knotted the game for a 2-2 home draw. Brandon Snee of Union made 27 saves and Dan Lombard for Yale had 29 saves.
Union 3, Princeton 1
On Saturday, Princeton lost its second game of the weekend to high-flying Union at home. The Tigers took a 1-0 lead at 11:00 in the first period, but Union tied the game less than two minutes later and never looked back.
Union scored another goal in the same frame and added an empty netter to finish the game. Union is 7-14-1 Overall, 5-6-1 ECAC, while Princeton is 6-10-3 Overall, 4-5-3 ECAC.
RPI 3, Yale 0
RPI goaltender Joel Laing captured his third shutout of the season and freshman Marc Cavosie scored his third shorthanded goal of the weekend to carry the Engineers to a win over the host Yale Bulldogs.
Lang made 34 saves in the contest.
Rensselaer now has the sole possession of first place in the ECAC. Yale (8-7-4, 5-4-3 ECAC) will travel to St. Lawrence and Clarkson next weekend while the Engineers (15-7-2, 7-4-1 ECAC) will host Dartmouth next Saturday.
Colgate 4, Cornell 2
Despite outshooting Colgate 40-16, the Big Red failed to come up with a win, losing two straight games against the Red Raiders at home.
The Red Raiders scored two goals in 65 seconds in the third period to steal a victory from the Big Reds.
With the win, Colgate improves its record to 15-6-0 Overall, 8-3-0 ECAC, while Cornell dropped to 7-10-1 Overall, 4-7-0 ECAC.
