The Official Homecoming Party Guide

After the bonfire has gone out, it's party time on the Dartmouth campus. Whether you're searching for dancing, music or frothy beverages, Homecoming inspires some of the greatest parties of the term. While numerous fraternities, sororities and coeducational societies are keeping their doors closed this weekend for private gatherings with alumni, there are a select few holding open parties for all upperclassmen to partake of. Except for Panarchy, none of these parties allow freshmen.Sorry, '01s. No fratting for you. Wait until Winter Carnival...

Alpha Chi Alpha

AXA will hold an open party on Friday night, featuring the band Space Station playing from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. "It's an open party with costumes not required, but encouraged," according to social chair Jon Lloyd '98.

Alpha Delta

On Saturday the brothers of AD will have their Traditional Bloody Marys at the house before the Football game and at half time. That evening, from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. they will hold their open Homecoming Blow-Out with Groove Merchant.

Bones Gate

"On Friday, Bones Gate will be throwing Tea from 5 to 9 p.m. The Boogie Men will be playing with the Home Plate Grill Guy, Mike Tully. Unis and Invites required. Candy and beer will be served. On Saturday, Bones Gate will be throwing a pre-party for Saturday's night of raging from 9 to 12 a.m. 5th Column will be our musical guests. Beer will be served," said social chair Scott Behrens '98.

Chi Gamma Epsilon

"Come early, come often," social chair Brian Wachob '98 said of Chi Gam's activities this weekend. These include the big Saturday night DJ party (10 p.m. to 3 a.m.) featuring the Budweiser Girls partying at Chi Gam early in the night.

Chi Heorot

Chi Heorot will hold an open dance party on Saturday from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., featuring DJ Jeff Eldridge.

Panarchy

Panarchy is supporting a party to follow the Collis Center's Friday Night Dance Club party on Friday night. The party will feature DJs from out of town, as well as locals, who "will be spinning techno and house music all night," said Shawn Thistlethwaite '98. Panarchy expects a live techno act. '01s welcome!

Gamma Delta Chi

Gamma Delt has an open party from 10 to 3 on Saturday night. Look out for the guy with the big wrench.

Phi Delta Alpha

"Friday night is ladies' night," said social chair Andrew Bonnes '98, "all ladies drink for free." Saturday night features Phi Delt's "salute to the invention of the millboard plow." All serfs and serfettes drink for free.

Psi Upsilon

Friday night will feature Upper Valley musical sensation the Gullyboys, from10 to 3, featuring their hybrid of musical styles "ranging from straight-on rock, to reggae, and from irreverent funk, to country style shuffles," said social chair Daniel O'Neill '98. The Gullyboys' repertoire includes Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, Koko Taylor, Phish, and Muddy Waters.

Sigma Nu

Journey back to the era of big hair, funny clothes, and Transformers. The brothers of Sigma Nu will hold their famous Early 80s dance party on Saturday night. Dance with DJs Jammin' and Timber. From 10 to 11 p.m., the party is closed, but the doors open wide from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. Get there early if you want to get in. An invite will take you to the front of the long line at any time throughout the evening.

Sigma Phi Epsilon

Sig Ep has a dance party on Saturday 11 to 3 to "celebrate the peak of Homecoming Weekend," featuring a DJ and smooth beer, according to social chair Josh McCurdy '99.

Zeta Psi

Even though they had 'tails last night, the brothers of Zeta Psi will be holding another open party from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. tonight. Drinks will be served.
