Over the Weekend

EQUESTRIAN: Dartmouth placed sixth out of 13 schools at the Colby-Saywer riding show on Saturday afternoon. The Big Green did have four winners in the 15 individual events.

In her first meet at the collegiate level, Jennifer Renz '01 took the open fences competition. Other winners were Kate Mottinger '98, Suzanna Lang '99 and senior Sam Caldwell '98 in the open flat event.

MEN'S RUGBY: Winger Dave Miller '98 scored 20 points on a try, a penalty goal and six conversions to lead the Big Green to a 55-5 win over Harvard at Sachem Field. Seven different players scored tries in a victory which puts Dartmouth at 4-0 in the New England Premier League and 6-1-1 overall on the season. The Big Green are seeking their fourth straight Premier League title.

WOMEN'S GOLF: Junior Sam Sommers '99 rebounded from a disappointing first round on Friday to fire an 81 and take fifth place at the Mt. Holyoke Invitational. Lauren Epstein '00 finished two strokes back of Sommers with a 173. Dartmouth placed third out of 12 schools in the tournament, which was won byy Hartford. See tomorrow's article in The Dartmouth.

MEN'S TENNIS: After an opening-round victory, Dartmouth suffered a 4-3 loss to Yale in the quarterfinals of the ECAC championship. Avery Rueb '98 and Rob Simik '99 both claimed victories for the Big Green but the team fell just short of victory. Dartmouth faced Columbia in the final round of the tournament yesterday.
