Over the Weekend

WOMEN'S CREW: The Big Green won three out of four races Saturday against New Hampshire and Northeastern. Dartmouth won the second varsity, first novice and second novice races. In the first varsity race, the Big Green's rudder snagged some weeds and the crew came in third.

MEN'S CREW: The Dartmouth heavyweights swept three races against the University of New Hampshire on Sunday. The Big Green's varsity crew had a 12-second victory, rowing the 1750-meter course in 5:04 to UNH's 5:12.

GOLF: The women's golf squad placed fourth at the Boston College Invitational this weekend.

The men's team won a scrimmage on Sunday against Yale, 323-334. Junior Jay Danzi was a medalist with a 78.

SAILING: The Big Green took second place out of 13 teams at the Sloop Shrew Regatta this weekend at Harvard. In the A Division, Carrie Gilbert '97 teamed up with Lauren Tulp '00 while Amanda Ruscitto '97 and Shannon Law '00 competed in the B Division.

At the J-22 Invitational at the Coast Guard Academy, the Big Green won fourth out of 10 teams. Jimmy Franzone '97, Marcus Coe '00 and Catherine Ware '00 raced for Dartmouth.

TRACK: The combined Dartmouth-Brown track teams scored a pair of victories over visiting Oxford-Cambridge Sunday, 10-9 in the men's competition and 12-5 for the women.

Alex Ghanotakis '97 won both the discus and the hammer events while Lane Burks '97 also won two events, the long jump and the triple jump.
