The Big Green used a 12-run scoring spree in the final three innings to beat UMass-Lowell, 16-13, yesterday in Medford, Mass.
Rookie James Little swung the hot bat for the Big Green, going 2-for-4 with a double and a four-bagger as he knocked in four runs on the afternoon. Mike Conway '99 and Brian Nickerson '00 had four hits apiece.
The win bumped Dartmouth's record to 8-7 this season. The Big Green travels to Tufts today to play a make-up game at 3:00 p.m.
The softball team fell for the fifth consecutive time this season as they lost a 9-1 game to the Terriers of Boston University at Sachem Field yesterday.
The Terriers (18-6) busted out to an early 5-0 lead in the top of the third inning as two Dartmouth errors yielded three BU runs.
For Dartmouth, Gretchen Saegh '99, Elizabeth Lucchesi '00 and Lauren McQuade '97 had singles while Jane Peachy '99 pounded out a single and an RBI.
