Over the Weekend

SAILING: The Big Green sailing team travelled to three separate regattas where they took 2nd, 4th and 5th places respectively.

In the Duplin Trophy regatta, hosted by Tufts, Leigh Lucas '98 and Erin Meyers '00 teamed up to race in the A division while Amanda Ruscitto '97 was joined by Shannon Law '00 in the B division. Together the two Dartmouth teams earned a 4th-place finish overall out of 14 teams.

At the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday, Jimmy Franzone '97 set sail with Hollis VonSummer '00 in the A Division as Wes MacLaggan '98 raced with Tina Pai '00 in the B Division. Combined, the Big Green squad took 2nd-place out of a field of seven teams.

At the Boston University Invitational on Sunday, the Big Green was led by Jeff Blecher '98 and Shannon Laughlin '98 in the A Division and Marcus Coe '00 and Liza Cowan '00 in the B Division. Dartmouth finished in 5th-place out of a field of nine teams.

TRACK: The Dartmouth men's and women's track teams returned from the Tufts Invitational on Saturday with six first-place finishes.

Senior Dan Neiderjohn took first in the pole vault with a leap of 14-6. Adam Nelson '97 topped the competition in the discuss event with a 166, while Alex Ghanotakis '97 won the hammer in 178-1.

Freshman Ben Nastou won the shot put, while Matt Orosz '00 took first in the 400-meters.

Jessica King '00 rounded out the Big Green's top-place finishers witha 17:41 in the 5000-meters.

Senior Pilar Rodriguez and freshman Sarah Kenney tied for third in the 200-meters in 26.67, while Rodriguez also took third in the 100-meters.

Kelly Miller '00 finished second in the shot put in 37-6.
