Rookie shortstop Brian Nickerson has only been wearing the Green and White for a couple weeks, but he's already putting up the numbers for the Big Green.
In his first week as a collegiate ballplayer, Nickerson led the Ivy League batting stats with a whopping .438 average, hitting 14-for-32 over the break. He was the only Dartmouth player to be named to the "Bombs of the Beach" All-Tournament Team.
Nickerson was also named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week for his impressive performance.
A native of Arcadia, California, Nickerson was one of the most highly recruited high school short stops last year. In his senior season at Pasadena Polytech H.S., he was the league MVP and earned All-Conference honors.
During the 1995 season, Nickerson played for the Cleveland Indians scout team.
