Over the Weekend

Skiing:The Big Green struggled to hold onto their number three spot at this weekend's St. Lawrence University Winter Carnival. The University of Vermont won the event by a more comfortable margin.

Still, besting all but two of the fifteen NCAA Division 1 eastern collegiate teams was not a bad weekend's work for the Big Green, who continue to demonstrate excellent skiing while falling victim to some inconsistent race results.

Squash:The women's team notched two more wins this weekend with a 7-2 victory over Trinity and a 8-1 win over Vassar.

On the men's side, Dartmouth split with a 9-0 blanking of Vassar, before closing the weekend with a 8-1 loss to Trinity. The Big Green are now 8-2 on the season.

Swimming: The men's and women's swim teams both fell short of sinking Princeton on Sunday. The women, now 6-6 overall fell 137-99 while the men (2-5) fell 157-86.

The Big Green men managed to finish tops in five events while the women's won four events outright.

Track:The men's track team scooped up second place on Friday night at the Terrier Classic.

Senior Jim Tuxbury took first place in the one mile run with a time of 4:07:01, which was his personal best and the fifth fastest in Dartmouth's history.

The women's track team took top honors in a tri-meet on Saturday at Leverone Field House.

First place finishers for the Big Green included senior Pilar Rodriguez in the 55 meter dash and the triple jump and Sarah Kenney '00 in the 55 meter hurdles.
