Amy Winchester '96, a thrower on the women's track team, qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships this past weekend with a throw of 53.6 feet in the 20 pound weight and a 48.575 foot throw in the shot put.
"She works really hard and she's as tough as nails," Coach Carl Wallin said. "She's a pleasure to work with. She's a good competitor."
Winchester just began throwing the weight this year and is "getting better and better every week," Wallin said. This season, she is also undefeated in the shot put.
