Former national coach to lead alpine ski team

Former U.S. Ski Team Coach Bruce Lingelbach will be coming to Hanover next year to take on the reigns of the Big Green women's alpine's ski team.

"Working with the [U.S. Ski Team] for the past four years has given me some great experience," Lingelbach said.

"I'm looking forward to sharing that experience with the talented athletes on the Dartmouth women's alpine team," he added.

Lingelbach has coached America's men's alpine team since 1991, where he served as assistant coach, equipment coordinator, technical coach and as the men's B-team coach for the past year.

He has also coached for Burke Mountain Academy in Vermont and with Ski Club Vail in Vail, Colo.

Lingelbach will beef up Dartmouth's already meaty ski coaching staff, which now includes Men's Nordic Coach Ruff Patterson, Women's Nordic Coach Cami Thompson and Men's Alpine Coach Peter Dodge.

"I couldn't be more excited about having Bruce on board," said Patterson, who also directs Dartmouth's ski program.

"We now have one of the most talented coaching staffs in the country, and our skiers will certainly benefit from their expertise and experience," he added.
