Baseball had a strong start but a slow finish, ending the 1993 season 14-19 overall, 8-12 in the Ivy League ... Women's lacrosse had one of its most successful seasons in recent history, finishing second in the Ivy League with a 4-2 record and earning a 11-4 record overall. The team received one of six bids to the NCAA tournament but lost to Harvard in the first round, 11-8. ... This year could have been the turning point for men's lacrosse, but tough losses to the Universities of Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire and to Harvard prevented the team from reaching its full potential ...After a strong season this year, women's tennis looks to be a force in the Ivy League next year. This year, the Big Green defeated Harvard for the first time since 1980 ... For the first time in the 87-year history of the Eastern Intercollegiate Tennis Association, men's tennis garnered a piece of the title, finishing the season in a three-way tie with Harvard and Yale ... Men's golf finished second at the Ivy League Championship while women's golf won the Northeast Championship and sent two players to the NCAA regional tournament ... Men's track and field finished eighth at the Heptagonal Championships this year and women's track and field finished fifth at the same meet ... Women's crew finished eighth at Eastern Sprints in New Preston, Conn., heavyweight crew finished seventh at Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Mass, but lightweight crew won it all.
