Last Thursday, the College suspended the Tabard gender-inclusive fraternity for three terms after the house admitted to violations of the College’s hazing, alcohol and recruiting policies, college spokesperson Diana Lawrence said. Following their period of suspension, the house will be placed on probation until the end of 2017, she said.

On Monday night, the Greek Leadership Council passed two changes to their code of standards and greater bylaws, banning Greek houses from displaying the Dartmouth Indian head. While the council’s code of standards had previously forbidden houses from engaging in acts of cultural appropriation, the new rule explicitly mentions displaying the Dartmouth Indian head as a violation.

Republican presidential candidate John Kasich appeared on Monday at a town hall meeting sponsored by the Tuck School of Business and the Rockefeller Center to discuss economic issues in America.Kasich spoke about his economic policy as governor of Ohio, his proposed plan to balance the national budget, climate change and healthcare to around 150 students and outside attendees.

Students and administrators gathered Monday night at Cutter-Shabazz Hall for an “emergency meeting” organized by Lambda Upsilon Lambda fraternity, a Latino fraternity, to speak about racial issues they have faced both on and off campus. The meeting was sparked by the alleged assault of Geovanni Cuevas ’14 at the Latinx Ivy League Conference at Brown University last Saturday.

An outbreak of E. coli in the South Royalton, Vermont, area prompted Worthy Burger, a brewery and burger restaurant popular with Dartmouth students, to shut its doors for four days and switch beef suppliers, Worthy Burger executive chef Jason Merrill said.
