Dartmouth (14-12-3, 11-9-2 ECAC Hockey), wearing pink and black jerseys to support the American Cancer Society on Pink at the Rink night, shut out Princeton (20-9-0, 14-8-0 ECAC Hockey) as goaltender Jody O'Neill '12 made 33 saves and Scott Fleming '11 scored the game-winning goal during a power play.

Joe Gaudet '10 scored the winning goal for Dartmouth (13-9-3, 10-6-2 ECAC Hockey) against Cornell (15-6-4, 10-5-3 ECAC Hockey) 1:05 into the overtime period. Though initially calling it a goal, the referees had to review the play before confirming the score to see if the puck hit inside the net when it bounced off the inside of the crossbar.

Dartmouth captain Rob Pritchard '09 was awarded a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct 17:21 into the third period with Adam Estoclet '11 already in the penalty box for hooking at 17:02. Union (12-12-2, 5-8-1 ECAC Hockey), down 2-0, pulled its goalie to create a six-on-three offensive advantage, allowing Dutchman defenseman Lane Caffaro to score at 17:36.

Each Ivy League institution nominates 10 students for this honor each season. Those selected as recipients must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0, in addition to demonstrating skill and leadership in their sport. Five female athletes -- Jess Thomas '09, Caitlin Cunningham '09, Kristen McCormick '09, Jesse Adler '10 and Myra Sack '10 -- and five males -- Andrew Dete '09, Craig Henderson '09, Sean Milligan '09, Oliver Townsend '09 and Ari Gayer '09 -- received the academic honor this Fall.

Goalkeeper Jody O'Neill '12, who was replaced after allowing four goals in less than two periods against Quinnipiac, rebounded with a 41-save shutout performance against the league-leading Tigers (13-3-0, 8-2-0 ECAC). The game was O'Neill's fourth shutout and second 40-plus save performance this season.

Boston College (9-4-1, 5-3-1 Hockey East) tied the game against Dartmouth (6-4-0, 5-2-0 ECAC Hockey) on a highly disputed goal scored by Brian Gibbons of BC with 38 seconds left in the third period. The referees were initially unsure if it was the puck or a piece of a broken stick that crossed the goal line.

The wins propel Dartmouth (4-2-0, 4-1-0 ECAC Hockey) to a three-way tie for first place in the conference with Princeton and Harvard. St. Lawrence (4-3-1, 1-1-1 ECAC Hockey) is in eighth place, and Clarkson (2-8-1, 1-4-0 ECAC Hockey) is now tied for 10th place with Union College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The Big Green men's hockey team earned its first two victories of the season in a weekend that saw the team amass 10 goals over two games. The Big Green dispatched both Union College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute by identical scores of 5-2 in a road trip to New York state.

The Big Green men's hockey players tightened up their skates and returned to the ice this Saturday with a 2-1 victory over the University of Quebec in the Big Green's first exhibition game of the season. The team will depend on the performance of key returning players and new freshmen this season to offset the loss of last year's seniors.
