Change has certainly been the theme of Dartmouth crew throughout the fall season. There were rowers fervently hoping to improve upon previous campaigns and freshman recruits and walk-ons eager to get a taste of collegiate competition. But there is one unexpected difference in the boathouse this year -- a new group of Big Green coaches. The crew program began the fall season with a total of five new coaches, including three new head coaches for the men's lightweight, men's heavyweight and women's squads.

The Dartmouth women's tennis team wrapped up their fall season, hosting the Big Green Invitational Oct. 29-31 at the Alexi Boss Tennis Center. Despite several setbacks in the main draw, Jamie Caplan '09 turned in an impressive final-round performance in the B flight, while the rest of the team had a strong showing in the consolation brackets.

As the wind swooped in from Lake Michigan on a rainy Sunday evening in Chicago's South Side, the Houston Astros' Brad Ausmus '91 took his position behind home plate at U.S. Cellular Field. As his cleats dug into the soggy dirt, he watched White Sox outfielder Scott Podsednik, who had not connected for a home run throughout the entire regular season, enter the batter's box.

The Dartmouth men's golf team battled a scoring controversy and a torrential downpour this weekend at The Course at New Haven for the annual Yale Macdonald Cup. Coming off a notable second-place finish at the ECAC Championship, the Big Green finished a satisfying seventh out of a field of 20 teams, shooting a strong total two-round score of 589 for the Macdonald Cup.
