The sailing team continued to reach new heights, putting together yet another remarkable weekend. The team competed in four regattas in the Northeast, placing in the top four in all of them. Matt Wefer ’14 and Avery Plough ’14 were named coed sailors of the week after pulling off a key win in the A-division of the Professor Schell Trophy. Deirdre Lambert ’15 and Carissa Crawford ’14 were also recognized for their division win at the Victorian Urn.

Sam Anderson '14 was the star performer for the Big Green, tallying her first career hat trick to lead Dartmouth to victory. Anderson has now notched four goals in the last two games, her only goals of the season thus far. "Someone sat on my seat on the bus and I was really angry about it," Anderson said. "Now the whole team's joking that I have to sit in a different seat on the bus every week and have the same girl do my hair."

At St. Mary's College of Maryland's fall interconference regatta, the Big Green finished fifth out of 18 teams. Matt Wefer '14 and Avery Plough '14 sailed A-division to a fourth-place finish, while Chris Price '14 and Charlotte Snow '15, the B-division, struggled a bit more in shifty conditions, finishing in the bottom half of their group. Yale University dominated the event, scoring less than half the points of runner-up Georgetown University. The Bulldogs won both the A and B-divisions, beating Dartmouth by 60 points even with the Big Green's strong A-division sailors.
The Big Green excelled in the Mrs. Hurst Bowl in Hanover. Deirdre Lambert '15 and Carissa Crawford '14 competed in the A-division for Dartmouth, while Kelsey Wheeler '14, Lizzie Guynn '16 and Hope Wilson '16 competed in B-division.

"This was our first home tournament since I've been here," middle blocker Kaira Lujan '16 said. "It's really nice because you get to stay in your own room and have a more flexible schedule."
The 2012-2013 season proved successful for Dartmouth athletics, with multiple teams outperforming expectations to stand at or near the top of their leagues. Particular standouts included the men's baseball and soccer teams, as well as the women's track, lacrosse and softball teams. Men's rugby, a club team, also had a stellar season.
The sailing season is drawing to a close over the next week, with women's and coed national championships coming up. Dartmouth is well-represented in both events, with a Big Green team racing at the Gill Coed championship in St. Petersburg, Fla., next weekend and a women's team competing in the Sperry Top-Sider finals today. The Big Green women are currently leading the national championships over second-place Boston College by 39 points with one day remaining of competition.
The team qualified for nationals for the second consecutive year following an impressive performance at the ICSA National Championship semifinals, hosted by Old Dominion University last weekend. The team finished fourth in the Eastern Division, just three points behind third-place Roger Williams University. Dartmouth's A and B-teams performed incredibly well, each notching at least eight top-six finishes in the 13 race events.
All three of Dartmouth's crew teams were out in force over the weekend, continuing to round into form as the main thrust of the season approaches. The women's rowers competed in the Class of 1985 Cup at Boston University over the weekend, racing against the host Terriers as well as Yale University and Clemson University. The women struggled, especially in the first varsity eight race. The Big Green won the cup last year, but came in fourth this year, 13 seconds behind the winning Bulldogs.
The Big Green competed in the Southern New England team race at Connecticut College, the Dellenbaugh women's regatta at Brown University, the Mystic Lake team race at Tufts University and the BU Trophy at Boston University. The races provided more experience for the sailing team as the season continues, allowing some members to sail in formats they did not get the chance to try in last week's regattas.
After a cold winter training season, the Dartmouth sailing team returned to action over the weekend, competing in four regattas along the East Coast. The team placed in the top eight in three of the four events.
