When Carly Carlin ’15 first began taking dance lessons at five years old, she refused to take ballet classes because she “hated the color pink.” Now, the 21-year-old co-president of Fusion Dance Ensemble has 14 years of classical ballet training under her belt. This Sunday, she led Fusion in a “Your Space” performance at the Hopkins Center’s Bentley Theater.

Dartmouth women’s ice hockey (10-7-1, 6-6-1), scoreless through the first two periods, exploded for four goals in the third period to sink no. 5 Harvard University (12-3-2, 9-2-1), 4-2, on Saturday at Thompson Arena, extending its own win streak to four and severing Harvard’s 10-game win streak in the process. Additionally, the victory provided sweet revenge for Dartmouth, who had lost to Harvard earlier in the season.

Members of Raaz and Sugarplum will take the stage in Alumni Hall Saturday at 11 a.m. to teach Upper Valley children about Indian dance and ballet. The event is part of the Hopkins Center’s monthly HopStop series, which aims to introduce school-aged children in the Upper Valley to the arts, Mary Gaetz, the Hop’s outreach and arts education coordinator, said.

Students at the College will have the opportunity to experience Kuchipudi when professional dancer and choreographer Shantala Shivalingappa performs “Akasha” at the Hopkins Center of Art Wednesday and Thursday at 7 p.m.

The women’s hockey team moved to 4-0 with a 5-1 win over St. Lawrence University on Friday on neutral ice in Rochester, New York — a score that does not count toward the overall ECAC standings. Lindsey Allen ’16 and captain Karlee Odland ’15 were the offensive stars for the Big Green, notching three and two points in the win.

The women’s rugby team hosted the Ivy League tournament over the weekend, finishing second after falling to the Bears in the final game. The men’s rugby team won the Ivy League title for the eighth consecutive year after its Homecoming win over Brown University in October.

The Rude Mechanicals began its rendition of “Macbeth” on Halloween night with swords clashing and witches raving. The student group, which runs one Shakespearean play per term, produced a shortened version of the famous Scottish tragedy on Thursday and Friday.

The Hood Museum announced Friday that it received a 118-piece donation of art from the children of Barbara and David Stahl ’47. The works, collected over 30 years, include drawings, paintings ceramics and an extensive set of prints ranging from the 16th to the 20th century.

The field hockey team lost a crucial league game to Columbia University in its Sunday matchup and fell out of a tie for first place in the Ivy League. The Big Green (5-9, 3-2 Ivy) let up three goals in the first half and failed to equalize in the second despite shutting the Lions (11-4, 4-1 Ivy) out in the final frame.

The field hockey team earned a hard-fought 5-4 win on Monday against the College of the Holy Cross in its second overtime win of the season. The Big Green (4-7, 2-1 Ivy) rallied in the final seconds of the game against the Crusaders (3-12), scoring with no time on the clock, then notching the game-winner just 2:04 into the extra session.

After dropping its first five contests of the year, the field hockey team is revving up at the right time as it begins Ivy League play. The team’s offense kept rolling in a 5-3 win over the University of Pennsylvania on Saturday. The team had 4-0 lead at the end of the first half, with co-captain Ali Savage ’15 and Anna Rowthorn-Apel ’18 each scoring two goals.
