An undefeated Dartmouth figure skating team qualified for Nationals by taking first-place at the second Eastern Conference meet at Boston University this weekend. Outskating competitors from 22 colleges was a spectacular sequel to their first place finish at Princeton University in November where they beat the 2003 national champion, Cornell University. Dartmouth beat out skaters from Princeton, Boston College, Northeastern, Harvard and UMass-Amherst with an 80 point finish, followed by University of Delaware (72 points), and Boston University (56 points).
The Dartmouth figure skating team placed fourth in its fourth consecutive trip to Collegiate Nationals at the University of Denver on Mar. 29-30, 2003. The team was preceded by Cornell University, which took first place, University of Delaware, which took second and University of Ohio at Miami, which took third.
With a second place finish at Boston University last Saturday, the Dartmouth Figure Skating Team qualified for the Nationals Collegiate Team Championships for the fourth consecutive year. The Boston University competition was the third qualifier in the Eastern Collegiate Skating Conference. Dartmouth's skaters finished in second behind the University of Delaware and ahead of Cornell University. In collegiate figure skating, the top three eastern teams advance to Nationals, so Dartmouth, the University of Delaware, and Cornell University will all head to the University of Denver at the end of March for the championship.

On Saturday, the Dartmouth figure skating team placed second at the first eastern qualifying meet of the 2002-2003 collegiate season at the University of Delaware.
On March 16, 2002 in Ann Arbor, Mich., the Dartmouth Figure Skating Team took third place in Collegiate Nationals. The University of Delaware and University of Michigan took first and second place, respectively.
This Saturday, the Dartmouth Figure skating team placed second in the Boston University Regional competition to finish second overall in the Eastern Conference. Along with University of Delaware and Penn State, Dartmouth will go on to compete in the National Collegiate Figure Skating Competition March 16 in Ann Arbor, Mich. The eastern collegiate standings were determined by three qualifying competitions held at Princeton, MIT and BU. Dartmouth won second, third and second places in these competitions, respectively.
