Across both the men’s and women’s teams, five Dartmouth lacrosse players earned All-Ivy recognition this season, with two securing positions on the vaunted first teams. For the men, midfielder Phil Hession ’15 and defenseman Robert Osgood ’15 were placed on the first and second teams, respectively. On the women’s side, Jaclyn Leto ’16 landed on the All-Ivy first team, and Frances Bird ’15 received second-team recognition. Sarah Byrne ’15 was one of four All-Ivy honorable mentions.

The men’s golf team hit the links this weekend for the final time this season as they squared off against the rest of the Ancient Eight at the Ivy League Championships in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Shooting a 921 for the weekend, the Big Green placed sixth and came away 36 strokes behind the top-finishing University of Pennsylvania Quakers.

Each spring, the men’s football team conducts 12 spring practices to prepare for the coming fall season. Both players and coaches see spring work as a prime opportunity for young and under-used players to show their skills, as well as a chance for experienced veterans and core units to add to their repertoire and improve cohesion.

For the second week in a row, the men’s golf team could not maintain a consistent performance throughout a two-day weekend tournament. This past weekend, the team traveled south for the annual Princeton Invitational, ultimately tying with Cornell University for 10th place in a field of 13. The Big Green finished the first day of competition in sixth, but fell four positions after shooting 26 over par Sunday as a group, sliding them far out of reach of a top finish.

When the crowd rose to its feet in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s senior night game against Cornell University, filling Leede Arena with applause, it was not because of an and-one, a three-pointer or a powerful dunk. Tyler Melville ’14, the team’s captain and its only senior, checked out for the last time in front of loyal Hanover fans. Cheers echoed through the building as Melville slowly walked down the row of chairs to his seat, receiving hugs from each member of the coaching staff and the players on the bench.

The men’s basketball team could not find a way to get back in the win column this weekend, dropping both of its games on the road. The Big Green fell 67-57 to Princeton University on Friday night, and 74-65 to the University of Pennsylvania on Saturday night. The Big Green (9-15, 2-8 Ivy) has now lost six straight games.

The men’s basketball team dropped both of its games on its road trip this weekend, falling 70-67 to Cornell University in a heartbreaker and 69-59 to Columbia University. The Big Green has now lost four games straight, bringing its record to 9-13 overall, 2-6 versus the Ancient Eight.

The men’s basketball team suffered back-to-back home losses over Winter Carnival weekend, falling 67-54 to Yale University on Friday night and 75-62 to Brown University on Saturday. The Big Green is now 9-11 overall and 2-4 in the Ivy League. After an impressive weekend sweep of the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University, the weekend was a disappointment for the Big Green, which failed to overcome early setbacks and injuries in both contests.

The men’s and women’s basketball teams both lost to Harvard University this weekend, getting swept in the season series against the Crimson. The Big Green men (7-9, 0-2 Ivy), missing center and leading scorer Gabas Maldunas ’15 with an ACL injury, were scorched 80-50 at Leede Arena while the women (3-13, 0-2 Ivy) fell 77-59 in Cambridge, Mass.

The Big Green men’s and women’s basketball teams experienced mixed results this weekend, as the women (3-12, 0-1 Ivy) picked up their first road win against the New Jersey Institute of Technology, 48-45, and the men (7-8, 0-1 Ivy) fell 69-55 to St. John’s University. Both games marked the teams’ last outside the Ivy League this season.

When the University of Hartford men’s basketball team was up off the bench, towels waving and coaches cheering, no one would have guessed it would be for the team’s reserve guard Taylor Dyson. The Australian freshman didn’t show up on any scouting reports, but his performance Tuesday night was crucial as Hartford topped Dartmouth 68-56 at Leede Arena.

The Big Green Bus, which embarks on a cross-country trip each summer, may no longer center around a biodiesel powered bus next summer. In light of new trends in sustainability and logistical challenges surrounding repairing and driving the current bus, team members are reevaluating the program and considering other modes of transportation.

The men’s and women’s rugby teams seem to have forgotten how to lose. Both teams tackled, ran and kicked their way to undefeated records, putting on spectacular performances wherever they travel. This weekend, they hope to continue their stellar seasons in two different tournaments. The men will compete in the North Ivy Sevens Championship, while the women will compete in the Ivy Fifteens championships, which will both be staged at the Corey Ford rugby clubhouse in Hanover.

This summer, the College hired EthicsPoint, a regulatory compliance company, to run its compliance and ethics hotline, which allows community members to anonymously report violations of College policy as well as state and national laws. Program administrators said they hope the hotline will allow for people to report issues without fear of being identified.

Dartmouth sailors weathered tricky winds on their home course to come out with a solid finish, scoring 214 points total. Matt Wefer '14, Avery Plough '14 and Victor Hollenberg '14 earned 89 points in the A-division, coming out fourth in their heat. Christopher Price '14, Charlotte Snow '15 and Hope Wilson '16 earned 125 points in B-division, good for sixth.
