Internet Meme of the Week: A Trailer for every Academy Award Winning Movie Ever
Even though I'm a lover of Academy Award-winning films, more often than not I find myself throwing around cynical comments about the predictability of these movies as I leave the theater. The creators of the video "A Trailer For Every Academy Award Winning Movie Ever" appear to be similarly frustrated and amused at the predictable formula that so many award-winning films follow. Mimicking the format of the trailers to these films, the video brilliantly captures the cliched elements that pop up in a statistically significant portion of well-known Hollywood films. The scene where the "wealthy successful protagonist who is good looking" says "inspiring final lines of the speech that douchebags will quote in their Facebook profile" was so spot-on that I wasn't sure whether to laugh or nod (I did both). The video ends with "Generic comment that expresses desire to watch film." Yes, these comical criticisms are true, but I bet that you'll still find yourself heading to the theater when yet another blockbuster hits the screens.
