Despite College recommendations, many students traveled over spring break

In an email announcement sent in February to students approved for spring on-campus access, Dean of the College Kathryn Lively wrote that students living locally were “strongly encouraged” to remain in the Upper Valley over spring break. While some students observed the College’s advice and stayed in the area, others traveled during spring break to spend time with family, alleviate stress between terms or due to a lack of interim on-campus housing.

After ‘Marriage Pact,’ ‘Datamatch’ to offer students another shot at love, friendship

“Datamatch,” an algorithmic matchmaking service run by the Dartmouth Comedy Network, will make its return to campus on Feb. 7 — just in time to land students their valentines. Datamatch is the second service hoping to find students their ideal match this month, after “Marriage Pact” pairings came out earlier this week.

Indigenous Fashion Showcase celebrates modern Indigenous fashion

On Friday, students strutted down the virtual runway in the College’s second annual Indigenous Fashion Showcase — an event celebrating Indigenous culture and creative expression across Dartmouth’s Native American community. This year’s showcase featured guest emcee Geo Neptune ’10, a Two-Spirit basketweaver and drag performer from the Passamaquoddy tribe who recently became Maine’s first openly transgender elected official.

Student Advisory Board gives guidance on campus issues, COVID-19 decisions

As Dartmouth makes dramatic adjustments to student life due to COVID-19, the Dean of the College Student Advisory Board has met regularly with Dean of the College Kathryn Lively, seeking to bring student perspectives to the decision-making table. In the two months since its creation, the board has provided input on issues such as how to bring students back to campus safely and methods to promote adherence to COVID-19 regulations.

College's capital campaign nears 75 percent of $3 billion goal

With over $2.2 billion raised to date, the College’s “The Call to Lead” capital campaign has been “unprecedented,” according to alumni council member Julie Levenson ’84. The campaign’s $3 billion goal greatly surpasses the $1.3 billion raised in the College’s most recent capital campaign, The Campaign for the Dartmouth Experience, which was launched by former College President James Wright in 2002 and concluded in 2009.
