Competition grows tense as season’s end approaches for Big Green baseball

Coming off a strong previous week that included another Ivy League series win against Cornell University, baseball had solid outings this week to stay in the title conversation. Despite suffering a close 3-1 loss against the College of the Holy Cross on Tuesday, the Big Green was able to take care of business against Harvard University over the weekend. In the three-game series, Dartmouth won the first game with eight runs to Harvard’s six, lost by a score of 6-1 in the second and won the third 15-2. Dartmouth came into the weekend maintaining its third place ranking in the Ivy League, while Harvard was not too far behind in fourth. As the fight for the Ivy League title continues, Dartmouth improves to 21-16 overall and 12-6 in the conference.


Baseball continues to make a push in the Ivy League standings

Big Green baseball had a productive week, overtaking the University at Albany on Wednesday and Princeton University during a weekend series in Hanover. Dartmouth came away with some strong performances to beat Albany 12-5 and Princeton 6-2, 11-6 and 16-7 in the three games of this Ivy League series. With these wins against Princeton, the Big Green has moved into the top three in the Ivy League standings with 8 wins and 4 losses in conference play, while improving its overall record to 16-13.


Dartmouth men’s basketball comes up short against Yale and Brown in back-to-back games

This weekend, the Dartmouth men’s basketball team took on Yale University and Brown University on the road. The Big Green was unable to successfully close out either game, falling to Yale 72-69 Friday night followed by an even closer 62-60 loss to Brown Saturday night. Dartmouth is now 2-6 in Ivy League play, sitting at seventh in league standings. 


Men’s basketball earns second Ivy League win of the season at Columbia

The Dartmouth men’s basketball team traveled to New York on Saturday to take on Columbia University. Sitting at last in the Ivy League before Saturday’s matchup, Dartmouth stepped up and took down the Lions 76-63 in what was a crucial win for the Big Green’s conference tournament chances. After the victory in New York, the Big Green sit at sixth place in the conference — just a game back from the final spot in the Ivy League playoffs — with a 2-4 Ivy League and 5-12 overall record.
