Tucked away in our endless stream of campus-wide blitzes, you may not have noticed the release of the Campus Events Calendar, the newest addition to the GreenPort website.

Sponsored by the Council on Student Organizations and produced by the Hacker Club, the new calendar, which syncs events from the campus-events listserv and the Dartmouth events calendar into a single stream, is just the latest in the gold mine of College-related resources located on Greenport. The site functions as a handy dashboard that utilizes the Netvibes platform to integrate tons of info about student life: everything from DDS menus to Hanover weather to LaundryView.

With winter course election coming up, one highlight of the site is the course election tab, which allows users to compare data from the Hacker Club’s Course Picker, the registrar’s timetable and the median grade Google Doc all on one page.

Greenport, crowned with a search bar, would be a useful option for anyone looking for a new homepage — or simply trying to find campus info without a direct link. While much of the site besides the homepage is composed of unwieldy, embedded frames linking to other College sites, it still does a good job of centralizing and organizing lots of data in one place. Now, if only they could make new Blitz so convenient!

The new calendar is available as an iCal file and an RSS feed.
