At a forum originally intended to seek feedback on potential locations for the College’s proposed biomass heating facility, discussion driven by attendees largely centered on the facility’s potential environmental impacts. On Wednesday evening, vice president for institutional projects Joshua Keniston led the presentation with approximately 70 community members and Upper Valley residents in attendance at Filene Auditorium.

Kevin Kang ’18, Chenguang Li ’18 and Jared Lichtman ’18 have been named 2017 Goldwater Scholars. The Goldwater Scholarship, established by Congress in 1986 in honor of former Sen. Barry Goldwater, R-A.Z., is a prestigious undergraduate scholarship given in the natural sciences, engineering and mathematics.

Today, the Dartmouth Entrepreneurial Network will kick-off this year’s “3 Day Startup,” a 72-hour hands-on entrepreneurial workshop for students to create, share and develop their ideas. The program was created by MBA students at the University of Texas in 2008 to provide a space for students to develop their entrepreneurial skills and has since expanded to 30 countries and 150 schools.

Last weekend, five fraternities extended 49 bids during winter rush. The increase from last year’s 21 bids can be attributed to the lifting of Beta Alpha Omega’s suspension. Numbers aside, winter rush was “largely similar” to prior years, according to Interfraternity Council president James Burton ’17.
