When forward Lucky Mkosana '12 points to this game as one of his favorite memories from his Dartmouth soccer career, one might be surprised to look at the box score and find that Mkosana's name a regular in the goals and assists columns is glaringly absent. After all, Mkosana finished his senior season with a total of 34 career goals and 79 career points both school records to go along with a slew of awards and accolades, most notably Ivy League Player of the Year in 2011.

The women's rugby team hosted and played in the weekend's Plate Division Tournament, a conciliatory tournament below the Northeast Final Four. Dartmouth defeated the State University of New York, Brockport on Saturday, 38-24, before falling in a 22-5 loss to Boston College on Sunday.

Facing over 100 teams and 390 competitors, the Dartmouth men and women's cross-country teams both placed eighth at the Paul Short Invitational on Friday, capturing 264 and 301 points, respectively.

The Dartmouth rugby teams saw their fair share of action over the weekend, as both the men's and women's teams opened Ivy League play. The men's team secured away wins against Cornell University, 97-3, and Columbia University, 64-0, while the women's team opened with a 41-12 loss to Brown University at home.

Despite playing under welcome blue skies and sunshine, the Dartmouth's men and women's rugby teams suffered disappointing results over the weekend. The men's team hosted its last College Premier Division game of the season and lost, 31-15, to Kutztown University, while the women's team succumbed to Stanford University, 40-15, and the University of Northern Iowa, 31-22, in Buffalo, N.Y., at the Division I National Tournament.

Despite holding the lead at halftime, the Dartmouth men's rugby team was sunk by a determined United States Naval Academy in a 27-10 loss, marking the team's fifth College Premier Division game of the season. An early penalty and first-half try put the Big Green up 10-5 at the half, but a strong Navy (5-0, Rugby East) forward line proved too much for Dartmouth (2-3, Rugby East), as it scored four successive tries in the second half, also securing bonus points. Navy remains undefeated in the Premier Division.

The women's team traveled to Princeton University, where it captured an easy win over Cornell University, but fell in a 17-15 last-minute loss to Princeton. The Big Green went on to defeat Yale University in a consolation match, overcoming the Bulldogs, 29-5.

Students who search for a P.E. course to fulfill one of those mandatory credits and happen to enroll in P.E. tennis can expect to be bombarded by questions many of which have little to do with their years of experience or strength of their backhand swing on their first day of class. This is not a training technique, but instructor Terry Cooper's preferred method of introduction. Cooper teaches four tennis classes a week in the hope of helping participants reach an intermediate-level playing caliber.

We're witnessing quite a few firsts in this year's World Cup the first time an African nation has hosted the World Cup and the first time two European teams will face off in a final held outside Europe. Most importantly, whether it is Spain or the Netherlands who hoists the trophy at the end of the match, it will mark a first-time victory for the winning nation.

Despite finishing sixth overall, the Dartmouth women's track and field team turned in some impressive performances at the 2010 Outdoor Ivy League Heptagonal Championships. Priscilla Trojano '12 took first in the heptathlon, finishing 166 points ahead of Harvard University's second-place finisher Nicole Silva.

The women traveled down to Portsmouth, R.I., over April 17 and 18 where the team blanked the University of Rhode Island, 17-0, Syracuse University, 27-0, and Yale University, 24-0, in the round robin set-up, before taking on Princeton University in the championships. The Big Green won without a problem, 10-0.

Traveling to Delaware, the Big Green jumped to a strong start and led at halftime, 15-7. Despite a constant struggle to keep the lead, Dartmouth managed to hold on for the slim win, largely thanks to the efforts of center Derek Fish '12, who scored 15 of the team's 25 points.

After a winter-long hiatus, the Dartmouth women's golf team returned to the course, teeing off at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate and the Cincinnati Invitational over spring break. The Big Green placed 16th in both events.
