The Dartmouth sailing team attends more regattas per year than any other team, the logistics of which are daunting even to its capable head coach, Brian Stanford.
This weekend the East Coast saw a rebounding pressure system in the atmosphere, full of swirling highs, lows and close calls. The sailing team thus faced a certain obstacle to its performances this weekend. At the 18-team intersectional Danmark Trophy Regatta held at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the team battled constantly changing weather conditions with dynamic crewing.
Not surprisingly, the Dartmouth sailing team is back on top of its game at the start of the fall season. With new rankings released just last week, the coed team is ranked third in the nation, while the women's team is fifth overall. Not bad for only two weekends of competition under their belts and neoprene suits.
