The Dartmouth women’s lacrosse team played the second game of its 2016 campaign against fellow Granite State rival University of New Hampshire at Fahey-Scully Field Tuesday and was victorious 11-10 after a strong second period. The Big Green are now 2-0 overall, with the five wins in a row. UNH falls to 1-2. With the win, Dartmouth now owns a 24-16 lead in the series.

The women’s hockey team fell 1-0 to both Cornell University and Colgate University on the road this weekend to finish the 2015-2016 season with a 6-19-3 overall record, 6-13-3 record in ECAC play.

The women’s hockey team beat Union College 3-1 on Friday to keep the Dutchwomen winless in 31 games. The next day, the team fell to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 2-1 in a tight contest. The Big Green improved to 6-17-3 overall and 6-11-3 in ECAC Hockey play.

The women’s hockey team beat Brown University 5-0 on Saturday, snapping a 15 game winless streak. The team fell to Yale University the night before in overtime 4-3. The Big Green’s first win of 2016 improved the team to 5-16-3 overall and 5-10-3 in ECAC hockey play.

The women’s hockey team fell to both No. 9 Princeton University and No 4. Quinnipiac University at home this weekend. The Big Green lost to Princeton 4-1 and to Quinnipiac 2-1 to extend their winless streak to 14 games and dip to 4-15-3 overall and 4-9-3 in conference play.

The Dartmouth women’s ice hockey team lost 2-0 to Harvard University this past Saturday in Boston, extending its winless streak to 12 games dating back to Nov. 27. The Big Green fell to 4-13-3 overall and 4-7-3 in ECAC play while the Crimson improved to 11-7-1 overall and 8-5-1 in conference play. In Ivy League play, Dartmouth currently stands fourth at 2-3-1 and Harvard second at 4-2.

A new indoor athletic practice facility will be opening in the fall of 2017. Trustees approved the $20 million project at their fall meeting on Nov. 6 and 7. The new building will be funded by gifts to the College. Construction on the seldom-used grass field adjacent to Boss Tennis Center and Scully-Fahey Field is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2016.

Kicking off competition for the winter and spring seasons, the Dartmouth men’s and women’s Nordic ski team traveled to Sovereign Lake, British Columbia for two days of training from Dec. 12 to 13 and to compete at the Haywood NorAm on Dec. 14. This week, the team is competing at the U.S. Cross Country Championships. Corey Stock ’16 was the top Dartmouth finisher in the women’s 20-kilometer freestyle coming in at 27th. Leading the Dartmouth men, Jan Ketterson ’17 took 31st in the men’s 30K freestyle.

The women’s tennis team enjoyed a triumphant finish to its fall season, going 19-3 in singles and 6-3 in doubles at the Big Green Invite this past weekend. In its fall season, Dartmouth competed in the Tribe Invitational, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-America Championship, Bulldog Invitational and the ITA Northeast Regional Championship in preparation for the winter and primary Ivy League spring season.

In its fifth Ivy League game, the field hockey team beat Columbia University 4-2 in a tough conference match on Sunday. Anna Ewasechko ’18 and Heather Zezzo ’17 scored single tallies, while Brooke van Valkenburg ’16 scored a brace to defeat the Lions at the Chase AstroTurf Field. The Big Green improved to 6-7 overall and 2-3 in Ivy League, while the Columbia Lions fell to 8-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Big Green, Columbia and Harvard University are tied for fourth in Ivy League standings with identical 2-3 conference records after this weekend of play.

In its fourth consecutive Ivy League game this past Saturday, the field hockey team fell to the University of Pennsylvania 3-2 in the last two minutes of the second overtime period after a hard fought game. The Quakers scored the game-winning goal with a minute and 17 seconds remaining in the second overtime to give Penn its ninth-straight win. The Quakers improved to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in Ivy League play, while the Big Green dropped to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in Ivy League play.

The women’s soccer team beat the University of Maine 3-0 in Saco, Maine, on Tuesday evening in its second to last non-conference game this season, extending its unbeaten streak to eight games. Goals by Melanie Vangel ’18, Jessica Lukas ’17 and an own goal by Maine secured all three points to put the Big Green 7-1-2 overall and 0-0-1 in the Ivy League.
