Spring term marks the informal start of rush, in which sororities, fraternities and gender-inclusive houses host events for potential new members. The events aim to give prospective members the opportunity to get to know the houses.
Despite the presence of 339 cases of COVID-19 among Dartmouth community members as of April 12, the College has no plans to reinstate testing or masking requirements “at this time,” according to College spokesperson Diana Lawrence.

All around campus, students clamored about the highly anticipated polar plunge. The weather was supposed to be unusually warm, participation was expected to be high and the water, of course, was extremely cold.
Tonight, opening celebrations at Collis patio will kick off Dartmouth’s 112th Annual Winter Carnival, and despite obstacles surrounding unusually warm weather, traditions like the “polar bear plunge” and snow sculpture are slated to continue as planned. This year’s theme, “Mission: Winter Carnival — License to Chill,” combines traditions loved by Dartmouth students and new James Bond-themed events.
