Teevens gets 100th Dartmouth win as football crushes Yale, 42-10

With an explosive first quarter and a career-high 203 receiving yards from wide receiver Drew Estrada ’20, Big Green football trounced Ivy League preseason favorite Yale University by a score of 42-10 on Homecoming weekend, giving head coach Buddy Teevens ’79 his 100th win at the helm of the program and earning Dartmouth the STATS FCS team of the week recognition.



Phishing emails sent to students accounts promise high-paying jobs

Since the beginning of the term, students have reported receiving job offers via phishing emails to their Dartmouth accounts. These emails are sent with the draw of high pay and flexible working hours, but they solicit students’ addresses, full names and phone numbers. The sensitive data obtained could potentially lead to identity theft and financial loss. 






Residential access policy elicits sharp rebuke from student body

The College’s new housing policy that restricts students’ access to residential buildings outside of their own House communities has sparked a debate over how building access affects student safety and well-being, and a petition drafted and circulated by Student Assembly leadership demanding a reversal of the policy has garnered nearly 3,000 signatures. 



Class of 2023 saw record yield rate, increased socioeconomic diversity

The College earned what dean of admissions and financial aid Lee Coffin referred to as the “triple crown” of admissions this year, setting three institutional records. In addition to the largest application pool for the first time since 2012 and the lowest admit rate in College history, 7.9 percent, the Class of 2023 also boasted Dartmouth’s highest final yield rate: 64 percent, up from 61 percent last year and 58 percent for the Class of 2021. The yield rate represents the portion of students offered admittance to the College who eventually chose to attend Dartmouth. 



Swann, Traynor lead way for championship-hungry football team

The Big Green football team has unfinished business to take care of this fall after narrowly missing the Ivy League title one season ago. After winning its first seven games of the 2018 season, Dartmouth fell to the Tigers of Princeton University, who went on to win the conference championship. With many key players returning, the Big Green will look to win its first Ivy title since 2015.






Dartmouth, plaintiffs reach $14 million settlement in sexual misconduct lawsuit

Dartmouth and the nine women suing the College for allegedly failing to act on reports of sexual misconduct by three former psychological and brain sciences professors have reached an out-of-court settlement totaling $14 million, College President Phil Hanlon announced in an email statement this morning.
